Tyrell Ashcroft

Born in Frimley, Surrey, he attended The Forest School in Winersh, Berkshire, and joined Reading as an Under-12 player. He made his senior debut for them in the Championship in November, 2021, at just 17 years of age and went on to make four appearances at that level throughout the remainder of that campaign.

Operating primarily as a full-back, Tyrell made his debut for our Under-21s on the opening weekend of the 2022/23 season at Leicester City and was a regular for Wayne Burnett's side in the early stages of that campaign, while also playing twice in the Under-19 UEFA Youth League. Unfortunately, a serious knee injury sustained in September, 2022, against Blackburn Rovers Under-21s ruled him out for a number of months.

He was virtually ever-present in our Under-21s' Premier League 2 title-winning campaign in 2023/24 and has shown his versatility at that level over the last couple of seasons by often filling in at centre-half.
